Rewind

Its been 3 years and Chad and I are still so happy together. Some people dont know but we met online. Its crazy how time flies. We actually ran to Vegas and eloped. Although my brother and sister and mom were there. We didnt even tell his kids. But later we had an open house so Hannah could be the flower girl. We were married on February 4th. Its coming up so if anyone has any ideas on what we can do for our Anniversary then throw them my way.

Bummer Thursday!

Today was a horrible day. I lost my job due to slow business. If anyone knows of anyone hiring right now pass it my way. Thanks. :(

November

Its been a while since we have posted anything. That is because not much is going on with us. However here is a little update. We had the kids for Halloween this year and we had alot of fun. It was suprisingly warm too. Hayden was a court jester and Hannah was a Pirate maiden. I was a fat irish guy in a qilt. Chad wore a jason mask. lol. The kids got plenty of candy and chad and I raided their candy before they went home. I am sure Hannahs candy is all gone by now. Hayden would keep his for years if his mom would let him. He counts it everyday. He is funny.
This year we are going to Colorado for Thanksgiving again. I am so excited too. I love it there and its nice to take a few days and get out of town. We are taking Chads sister Sarah and her daughter with us. Now that we have the Navigator we have extra seats to fit more people. I cant wait.
Not much else is goin on here at our place. We wont have the kids until we go to Colorado so its been pretty quiet here. I am looking for a part time job and I applied at Pier 1 Imports. I should hear from them in the next few days. I really want that job cause I love that store. It is only about a mile from my house too. I work only 4 miles from home so it would be nice to have a part time job even closer.
Chad is working side jobs as usual. Things have become really slow. Plus with Christmas just around the corner, everyone is planning for that instead of fixing up their house.
I do love Chad though. He provides well for us and takes good care of me. He is a wonderful man and a terrific husband and great Father. I hope he knows how much I appreciate him and everything he does for us.
Well thats about it here at our house. Hope everyone is well. Love to all.

The Ghost Tour of Salt Lake City

Ok, so as some of you may or may not be privy to is the fact that we are a ghost hunting duo, so in true fashion October is our favorite month of the year. Well this year we finally went on a professional ghost hunting adventure, ok, so it was a large bus and there were like fifty people with us, but it was still neat to drive and see the sites and hear the stories of the notorious spirits that haunt these buildings. I was somewhat dissappointed that we could not truly experience the buildings (as we were more of a roving freak show that would stop in the middle of traffic to look out the windows as we were hearing the stories) but we did get a lot of insight into where we should go in the future. It's amazing how many haunted tails there are around here, and I'm sure we only heard a few of them as our tour was just two hours long. All in all it was a good time and we had fun. For those of you who do not beleive in the ghosts, I have some photos for you. Anyway, why shut yourself down to the possibility of something outside of our realm.
We are really looking forward to Halloween because this is the first year that we will have the kids for Halloween! They are both very excited as well. Work is, well, what can you say about a dirty terrible four letter word that should never, ever, be uttered upon a weekend.

The Weekend.

Chad and I had a really nice weekend. We actually roughed a whole basement. Chad has taught me a few electrical things so now I can help him and earn money while we are with each other. Its pretty cool. It was a huge basement too. I am pretty proud of myself. I earned alot of money over the weekend. My feet hurt but that is cool. I will be alright.

I started a new job last week as well. It is pretty nice. I help make eye glasses, so if any of you need eye glasses, I get a killer deal on them. I will just need your prescription and the frames and I can make them. I like the people and the job and it is only 4 miles from my house so that makes it all worth it.

We didnt have the kids this weekend but we get them next weekend and I think we will take them to Lagoon. They have been bugging us to take them but have not done so yet. Since we did that side job we figured we could do it. They will be happy. I am hoping that maybe we will be able to get Hayden to go on the Colausses (sp). He is terrified of them. We did get him to go on the white rollercoaster last year. Hannah is our little dare devil. She will ride anything. I may even get her on the "WICKED".

We sold Da 'getter (ford escort wagon) to Shayne. We gave him a really good deal on it so we hope it helps him out. We also would like to wish him the best of luck with all the fury that is packed under the hood. We figured we didnt need 4 cars, one motorcycle, four bikes and one pair of skates, when there are only 2 drivers. And for those of you who have been to the downtown area, or possibly to our house, you would know how the parking situation is, so, I'm sure our neighbors are thrilled as well.

Just a thought!

Its funny the things you learn in a day. Such as I just relearned how to do a cursive capital Q. Its been a long time since I have had to do one of those. Wow!
I also find it funny when you hear that someone who doesnt want anything to do with you anymore read your blog. Interesting. You would think they wouldn't care what was going on in your life. Just a thought!

"Big Pimpin" P-I-M-P

So exciting news for us, we just bought a new Lincoln Navigator. Its a 2000 and it only has 89,000 miles on it and we got it for only $6000. I know with the gas prices it seems absolutely absurd that we would purchase such a beast of the blacktop and the small fact that we already have a SUV that takes you on a scenic tour of all the gas stations in the valley, but, for the price, we couldn't pass it up. I love it. It is so nice and comfy. I checked and it gets from 16 to 18 miles to the gallon. The kids love it as well. The best part is the third seat in the back (of which the kids insisted upon sitting in the WHOLE TIME.)

This weekend we also had a yard sale. It was pretty fun with the kids. All they wanted was the money so they were selling things that they like for it. It ridiculous the power of money with them. We did pretty well, met some interesting characters along the way, and got rid of unwanted things. Now its off to the DI with the rest of the stuff we couldn't sell. All in all we did pretty well. The kids wanted to do it all day but after we didnt have any customers for 2 hours and you could faintly hear someone whistling and tumbleweeds were rolling down the block (come on people, think old westerns here) we figured it was time to pack it up and get on to other things.

Not much is happening with us. Things are very boring at the Wheelwrights. One thing that is constant here at the Wheelwright house is the fact that Hannah is always cracking us up. I had a really nice cake dish with a lid out for sale. It was glass and turned into a punch bowl. Hannah was dusting it off and asked us if it was one of those "Cookie putter in ers". I thought I was gonna die. She cracks us up.

Wonderful whirrling weekend at the Wheelwrights'

So this weekend was a whirlwind of excitement and edge of your seat anticipation as we were determined to catch the small four legged creatures that roam the night in the nether reaches of the house... Yes folks, we are talking about MICE! Ever since our recluse neighbor Tom, (I use the term recluse only in the sense that but only one person on our block has been in his house, other than that he is more than willing to tell you all the dirt, or percieved dirt that is), had to move all the "hording" crap he had piled up against the side of our house because we were having trees cut down, and since that fateful day, we have been waging war against the squeaky little ones that strike fear into the very souls of the strongest amongst us. We, as you may or may not know do not eat nor kill living creatures, so the problem was; "what can we do to rid ourselves of our unwanted house guests and still maintain our moral bearing?" The solution seemed obviouse (after a half an hour search at the local home improvement warehouse that is), yes, live catch traps. Seemed perfect, you lure them into a tunnel and the weight of the mouse pivots the trap and....WHALLAH! the mouse is trapped inside, unharmed. This worked for a while and though we caught about 12 mice this way, there were those recon mice that were too smart for the tunnel. Back to the drawing board. Glue traps were the next method, because anyone who paid any attention in chemistry class knows that common household oils breaks down the properties of the glue, so this weekend we caught the recon mice.........SIX OF THEM! Yes folks, you heard (or should I say read it right, six) We now have six extra-virgin olive oil covered mice roaming the back alley of our neighborhood. The kicker in all of this was that after we caught Mum and Daddy, we caught two at a time....Twice. I think we are done with the little freeloaders as we have not seen the flashing black blurrs running across the wall as we have so many times before. I guess next we get a cat...................

This week in review!

So Chad's hand is doing alot better. He can now use his two fingers again. Lucky for him there was no damage. We decided to keep the dog since we just couldnt let them take her and put her to sleep.

Chad has been doing a side job for a while for this guy and I have been going with him and the other day we were talking to Gordon and found out that he is Porcia's nephew. It is really a small world.

We decided that we wont go on vacation again since work never stops. I got back to work and its been 2 weeks and I am still not caught up on all the work I had missed. UUHHHHGGG! I am reading a new book. Its Stephanie Meyers new book and it is fantastic. I am almost done with it. I should be done with it by tonight. I cant wait to see how it ends. I am trying to get my mom to read them but she says she does not like Vampire books.

We have the kids this weekend and we stopped at the Hare Krishna Temple and ate. They have really good food. It is really a beautiful building. The kids always ask what we are gonna do the weekends we have them. Its hard on the weekends when we have them and I have to work graveyards. I am thinking of getting a different part time job but I really love working with my Dad. Anyway, this weekend we have Chads work party and then a birthday party at 6. I can say I will only be able to go to one event and I think it will be the work party. Next weekend is my work party and then we have a festival the weekend after that. This month is really busy for us.

The kids start school in a couple of weeks so its time for back to school shopping. We cant believe how fast this summer has gone by. Hayden will be in 6th grade and Hannah will be in 4th. I cant believe it. They are growing so fast. We have to buy them backpacks and lunchboxes and jackets too. I love Wal-mart!!!! (just not the one by our house) For those of you who have not had the "downtown Wal-Mart" experience...... You just have not lived. It's like a walking freak show on each isle. It's always good for a laugh.
Well folks, that's all for this week in the life and times of the Wheelwright clan.
SEE-YA!

Mr. Lefty

So poor Chad had a really good day at work until he got home. Our dog Linna had pooped in the house AGAIN! So she ran to the laundry room cause she knew she was in trouble. Chad cleaned up the mess and went to the laundry room to let her outside and he reached down and she bit him on his right hand. He now has a big gash and a gapping hole in his hand. He cant really move his index finger or his middle finger. The doctor said the swelling is probably making it do that so once it goes down it should be ok. They cant close the hole cause it would get infected and they would end up just reopening it anyway. So now chad has a cute purple bandage on his right hand. :) and as we all know, that is his favorite color. Anyone needing a one handed electrician? Half off on pricing!

Vacation

We went to Colorado for 9 days and got back on Sunday. It was a nice relaxing trip to say the least. Chads parents live in Del Norte Colorado. It is in the southern part of Colorado. It is very beautiful there and the weather was fantastic. I dont think it got over 85 the whole time we were there. I was glad to come home to my own bed though.

We all had a good time. Chad's brother and his wife live there too. His brother is a Sergeant with the Rio Grande County Sheriffs department down there. He takes us for ride alongs but not much goes on in that tiny town, at least not when we're there. The kids all had fun. We went to the gator farm and they have a hot springs there. They made a swimming pool out of it. It is really nice. We went shopping, the kids were little antique store regulars and I think we saw each of them at least twice! We did some ghost hunting while there and visited some very old cemetaries by the light of a flash light and flash bulb. We also went horse back riding and the views were amazing, Hayden kept saying it was like a "green screen" I think he meaning that it looked fake because it was so beautiful. They both were little naturals on the horses and looked so cute riding. We went and saw The Dark Knight with Chad's brother and sister in law on our last night there, It was a really good movie. I think the kids really enjoyed spending our money. LOL!
It was really nice to be able to see Chads parents. We really miss them. I found out alot about my Mother in Law. She has had Colon Cancer, Breast Cancer, A triple Bypass and is a Diabetic. She is a miracle to say the least. When she had colon cancer they had her do Chemo and almost killed her on her 4th visit. They gave her a double dose of the chemo or poison and the doctor never even showed up to see how she was doing. She spent christmas and new years in the hospital that year. So when she got breast cancer she said its Radiation or nothing. So she did that and is doing great. Its funny cause she looks younger now than she did 8 years ago. Chads Dad is doing ok. He doesnt have any motivation to do anything. I know it is hard when you only have one lung and have to carry oxygen every where you go but we thought he would do more with us since we were there than just go to Wal Mart but it was still nice to see him.

The Alligator farm was disgusting but pretty cool. The water they swim in is part of the hot springs up there so it is warm all year round even in the winter. They have pics of the Alligators in snow. Its pretty crazy.

Brooke was kind enough to house sit for us and watch our dogs and we really appreciated it. I was sure to give her some money and buy her a few things while we were there. I hope she knows that I think she is an awesome sister and that I love her alot.

It was a long drive home and when we got home the dogs were very excited to see us. Moose, our rottweiler had pulled out some of Chads dirty clothes in the Laudry room and was sleeping on them. He loves Chad!!! It was nice to be home but not nice to go to work. I think it should be a law that when we go on vacation our work should do the same! I didnt want to come back to the heat, but it's nice to be back in the city.

Quick note.

Chad just bought a new car! Its an Isuzu rodeo. He likes it. I cut my hair to my shoulders a couple of days ago. I think it is pretty cute. Tomorrow we are heading out of town. We are going to Colorado to visit with Chad's parents. His Dad, who only has one lung that has emphyzyma in it is not doing very well. He was told 10 years ago when he lost his lung due to cancer that he would not live longer than a year or 2. But here we are 10 years later and he is still kickin. They found out a couple of months ago that he is diabetic and he is not doing very well. He may loose a foot and his health has been declining. So we decided to go for a visit. It will be nice to see his mom and Dad and his older Brother who lives there. Hayden and Hannah are excited and I am just glad we have a portable DVD player to keep them entertained most of the way. We have XM radio to listen to. I was lucky to get this time off since I just started a new job but I was sure to let them know that this was a trip that I needed to go on cause it may be the last time we see Chad's Dad and we want it to be fun with him. We cant wait to go. It should be lots of fun. Chad's brother is a Sheriff and he can take us to all the places that they say are haunted and we can take pictures of these places and see what kind of mists or orbs we see. I will have the video camera as well so it will be interesting what we find. Whatever we get I will be sure to post so everyone can see as well.

About Us

Chad is an electrical foreman and sometimes serves as an apprenticeship instructor at Salt Lake Community College but is currently taking a break from that. He has 2 wonderful kids that he brought with him when we were married. Hayden and Hannah. They live with their mom in Price but we see them every other weekend. They are terrific kids. Hayden is 11 and Hannah is 9. DeEtte is a software support receptionist at a company called Bill Good Marketing. Part time she is working with her dad as a security gaurd on the weekends. We are also amature ghost hunters in our spare time, we have got some really good pics of some very strange things, it's something the whole family gets into. Right now we dont have any kids of our own. We are just enjoying each other and our four furry ones, and hopefully one day we will maybe have a little one running around. I just need to convince Chad first.
